TIC Gums adds TICorganic Caragum 200

With sales of organic foods expected to increase at a steady pace in the next several years, demand for certified organic ingredients is also on the rise. TIC Gums is keeping up with and ahead of such demands by adding new products to its TICorganic line of certified organic gums, including one of its latest offerings, TICorganic Caragum 200.

The 100% certified organic stabilizer is based on TIC Gums’ standard version, Caragum 200. “TICorganic Caragum 200 contains the same ingredients as Caragum 200, but they come from a certified organic source,” explains TIC Gums food scientist Maureen Akins. According to Akins, TICorganic Caragum 200 provides both hot and cold viscosity and excellent mouthfeel and is often used to replace starch in finished products like soups, sauces, and gravies.

Manufacturers who use TICorganic Caragum 200 can claim that their products are 100% certified organic, as long as the rest of the ingredients are sourced properly as well. In addition to its certified organic status, TIC Gums’ new organic gum system also is a cost-effective alternative to straight locust bean gum.
